A Taste of Mackinac
Each year, we celebrate the regional favorites and talents of our Island chefs. This year, on Thursday, June 12th from 11:30am-1:00pm, Taste of Mackinac will be held on the lilac filled lawn of the stately Harbour View Inn.

Walk and Talk with Lilacs
We are pleased to have Lilac Curator Jeff Young again this season to teach us about living with lilacs.Jeff maintains our lilac collection each summer and also takes care of the lilacs at Vermont's Shelburne Museum. Don't miss An Evening of Lilacs with Jeff Young where he will share detailed information about lilacs in the informal setting of the Metivier Inn's gardens on Market Street. Tickets are $25 at the gate and refreshments will be served.

Grand Parade
Each season on Father's Day, the Grand Parade marks the close of the Lilac Festival at 5pm and this season's theme is Classic Saturday Morning Cartoons!!!

Lilac Festival Free Concert Series
Life would not be complete without music. Concerts abound at Windermere Point, Mission Church, Mission Point Theatre and the Island House Hotel's Ice House. This season we present Grand Hotel's Musical Director Alex Graham and his Quartet, Tricky Dicky and the Spoonmen, Barrington Children's Choir and of course all of the great musicans that perform in Mackinac Island's pubs each night.

Merchandise
Take home our festival merchandise for you and yours ranging from the Series I art of Richard Wolfgang to the second poster of Series II created by artist Betty Bea Washburn.

Lilac Festival Artists' Reception

An artists’ reception for those who entered their works for this season’s lilac festival poster competition will take place at Victorian Summer Gallery from 12pm-2pm on Friday, June 13th with Betty Bea Washburn, Diane Neyer, Noel Skiba, John Manikoff and Mary Guntzviller.

Jan Young will introduce the Learning to Care for Lilacs created especially for children. Kids will learn how to transplant their own lilacs to take home from seedling. Each child that participates will also receive the Lilac Festival Fun Patch as a momento of their new found knowledge. Check our lilac festival calendar of events for times and all locations.

Feast of Epona
Epona is known as the Roman and Celtic goddess of horses and protector of all animals. She is celebrated with many events during the Lilac Festival. The Mackinac Community Foundation hosts the Feast of Epona fundraiser during our festival. The Mackinac Island Dog & Pony Club along with Trinity Church and Ste Anne's Church come together for the Blessing of the Animals at Mission Hill Stables and of course the Epona and Barkus Parade and Dog and Pony Show complete our fun loving celebration of Mackinac's horses, ponies and canine revelers. Partnering with us to promote equine and canine awareness are Greyhounds of Eastern Michigan, Great Lakes Mastiff Rescue, Inc., Mid Michigan Boxer Rescue, Leader Dogs for the Blind Puppy Raisers and Nutro Natural Choice Pet Foods.
